Installing Adobe Shockwave Player 11.6.1.629 on all the computers in your network

Obtain Adobe Shockwave Player Install Files

Adobe does not allow direct linking to the files you need to install Adobe Flash Player; you need to sign up for a Adobe distribution license to properly obtain the files (for free). http://www.adobe.com/products/players/fpsh_distribution1.html

Once you have signed up, you will be given download links to the files  - Download the sw_lic_full_installer.msi file

With enought Googling around, you can find the download link on the AppDeploy site: http://www.appdeploy.com/packages/detail.asp?id=1438

Customise Adobe Shockwave Player

Open the file sw_lic_full_installer.msi with a msi editor like Orca.

Disable automatic updates

Edit the Registry table, changing all the "y" entries to "n" in the following keys:

  • SOFTWARE\Adobe\Shockwave 11\AutoUpdate
  • SOFTWARE\Adobe\Shockwave 11\collectstats
  • SOFTWARE\Adobe\Shockwave 11\uicontrol\AlwaysRegister
  • SOFTWARE\Adobe\Shockwave 11\uicontrol\CollectStatistics
  • SOFTWARE\Adobe\Shockwave 11\uicontrol\defaultautoupdate
  • SOFTWARE\Adobe\Shockwave 11\uicontrol\defaultcollectstats
  • SOFTWARE\Adobe\Shockwave 11\uicontrol\DoMandatoryUpdates
  • SOFTWARE\Adobe\Shockwave 11\uicontrol\OfferOptionalUpdates
  • SOFTWARE\Macromedia\Shockwave 10\AutoUpdate
  • SOFTWARE\Macromedia\Shockwave 10\collectstats
  • SOFTWARE\Macromedia\Shockwave 10\CollectStatistics
  • SOFTWARE\Macromedia\Shockwave 10\uicontrol\AlwaysRegister
  • SOFTWARE\Macromedia\Shockwave 10\uicontrol\CollectStatistics
  • SOFTWARE\Macromedia\Shockwave 10\uicontrol\defaultautoupdate
  • SOFTWARE\Macromedia\Shockwave 10\uicontrol\defaultcollectstats
  • SOFTWARE\Macromedia\Shockwave 10\uicontrol\DoMandatoryUpdates
  • SOFTWARE\Macromedia\Shockwave 10\uicontrol\OfferOptionalUpdates

Edit the Property Table, change:

  • AgreeToLicense = Yes
  • ISCHECKFORPRODUCTUPDATES  = 0
  • RebootYesNo = No

 

Deploy Adobe Shockwave Player

Copy the  msi to your msi deployment share, and add the msi to the software deployment GPO
