Quick workaround for the "No Package in the software installation data in the active directory meets the criteria" error
This error can occur if you have a mixed network of windows server 2003 and windows server 2008 machines. When editing group policy objects, make sure that you have connected to the same domain controller in group policy managment that you are working on.
To check the domain controller that you are connected to, Open the Group Policy Management window. Under the heading "Domains", right-click your domain (the small gray icon) and choose Change Domain Controller. At the top of the windows you will see the domain controller that you are currently connected to. Make sure the server listed here is the domain controller that you are currently working on.
